Moderation isn't always my strong suit. I have a tendency to be all-or-nothing at times which can either bode extremely well or lead to ideas lingering in the infamous cupboard of unfinished projects or lead to being completely overrun by an illness or two (hello, baby virus season!). Truth is, I've already broken my planned resolutions and it's January 7th friends.
Then I came across this Socrates quote "The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new."
So, I've come up with a few new resolutions- with a much kinder mindset. I tend to do better with a monthly goal setting target but that may be different for you and we are so inundated with advice, how-to's, expectations of 'new starts' and 'new you's' that we forget that this time of year (or any time of year that we may be ready for change) should make us feel better, not worse.
Which is why I am so happy to see columns that express a shoutout to healthier expectations! And ones that remind us that healthy looks different on everyone.
So here's to beginning again, over and over again if need be this year. Sending you lots of love on your journey- resolutions or not.
