Adam won me over with a lego robot and a hug. It was and still is one of my favourite memories. Then on our first date , I won him over by accidentally eating a knob of butter because it was shaped like a quenelle on the starter platter (Thankfully, I've classed my act up a little bit since then).
We're completely different personalities but also, incredibly similar at times that lines blur and we are learning a considerable amount as a result.
Val asked me the other day whether I'd share my own love note and for the week that was in it, here are ours.
I've learned that love is a choice that requires patience. It's more than just that initial feeling that brought you together- it's an action that requires daily effort.
One that reminds you that at the end of the day- that mad, crazy, all-encompassing, loving, frustrating, sweet man is your mad, crazy, all-encompassing, loving, frustratingly sweet choice. So adjust accordingly.
What I know about love? Not enough, is the simple answer. But it is undeniable, a unique feeling in the belly that your head can't control but has to learn and compromise for. I've learned that in the end, all you want is to share that love with her.
...Thank you Adam for indulging me with this post (you are so loved) x
