Meet our resident hero, Michael. Over the course of the 72+ hours that Storm Emma took its course, he and his team transported over 150 staff and medical essentials to our hospital. Working long hours, without hassle and completely free of charge as part of the voluntary organisation Blood Bikes Dublin- it was without a doubt one of the many acts of kindness that he and this organisation extends. The weather showed true colours of volunteers, staff, community and family everywhere who braved the odds to provide a continuity of care in the last few days. It was incredible to bear witness to.
''The heart of a volunteer is never measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.'' Deann Hollis
To all of the unsung heroes (big or small)-- this is a little note to say a big thank you. We couldn't appreciate you more.
