Hi sweet friends! How are you? I've just returned back to Dublin after spending the month of August in the southwest of Ireland!
The month was an unexpected, lovely departure from the pace of city and hospital life that I can't help but already want to go back to the winding roads, picturesque backdrop of the Slieve Mish mountains and the friendliest staff.
So, this past weekend (my last!) we visited Dingle to cheer on our friend and absolute champ Philip as he ran his 12th marathon. Whether it was the combination of elation for him and the undeniably charming town that is Dingle, the joy of a free weekend in good company or just that little bit of everything - it was a very sweet day.
I've never had a place that I could imagine travelling to every summer with friends or family, but here- the boats, the brightly coloured shops and tempting bites make it an easy place to forsee becoming a magical part of any little one's childhood. Now, I'm completely and utterly sold on all things Dingle :)
A few photos below if you'd like to see:
Things we tried and loved: the cinnamon buns from Bácús bakery, the loveliness inside Crinkle stores, Solas tapas & wine bar : grilled tiger prawns, chickpeas in chilli and ginger and the chorizo and manchego croquette were supreme (thank you sweet Caitríona for the recommendation!) and of course and always, a scoop or two of Murphy's Ice cream.
For the next trip: Dick Mack's pub and Out of the Blue oysters and seafood! I absolutely cannot wait to go back for more of the good stuff. Have you been before? Would love to hear your recommendations if you have!
p.s. Thank you Philip for taking us around for the views POST marathon! SUCH the rockstar. We are so grateful and adore you madly! #teamphilip x
